If you have any questions about a course, course work or maybe even the classroom, it's a good idea to get in touch with the member of the staff who is teaching your class. You can find contact information for all of us here. Don't forget though that we are often teaching and cannot always read and reply to our emails. You may also find that you only get replies to emails on weekdays, so please make sure you ask for any information you need in time!
The entrance exam is designed to help us provide the maximum support to all first-year students and is compulsory for all first-year students. The results of this test give us important information about the level of the students as well as whether they are required to attend the Remedial Language Development Class.
The test for full-time students will be held at 8:30 - 9:30 Wednesday 11/9/2024 room A1 mfsz 10. Part-time students will write this exam online at the beginning of the semester.
Failure to attend could jeopardize your studies at university and so make sure you are there!
Contact days are the days when part-time students must attend classes at university. A list of contact days is available here: Contact days for the current semester
It is rare for timetable clashes to occur but when they arise, students may apply for an individual timetable via Neptun in kedvezményes tanulmányi rend under the Ügyintézés/kérvények menu point. Detailed instructions are available here. Individual timetables are occasionally issued to students for other reasons and are granted on an individual basis. The conditions of exemptions are granted by the member of staff teaching the course (course work, exams and/or attendance) but students must still attend a minimum of 50% of classes.
Students are responsible for registering for their own classes. A list of all relevant classes is available in the student handbook which all students receive in their first year. If a student fails to register for specific classes, they will be unable to receive a grade or credits at the end of the semester.
Students must register for classes during registration week. A fee will be charged for late registration.
In the second semester of the first year, 1st-year students have to choose a learning track which they will study from the 2nd year. These are: Linguistics, American Studies or British Literature (for more information, check the course descriptions).
Deadline for registration: 15th April 2023
Find the registration form here: Registration form
In the second semester of the first year, 1st-year students also have to choose a specialisation OR a minor for 50 credits. Students will receive information about this from the Faculty of Arts Dean’s Office via Neptun.
