The 29th edition of the Symposium of Students in English
The 29th edition of the Symposium of Students in English, organised by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the West University of Timisoara, will take place on 11-12 April, and the deadline for paper proposals is 1 March. The event is open to bachelor and master students who take an interest in research connected to the English language and the literature and culture of English-speaking countries.
The main aim of the symposium is to offer young researchers an opportunity to share ideas, make new contacts and develop professionally. Students present papers and run workshops on a variety of topics connected to British and American studies, including linguistics, literature, media studies, gender studies, teaching, creative writing, and many others.
The department also publishes a selection of the papers presented at the symposium in the Journal of Student Research in Languages and Literatures (JSRLL) https://csap.uvt.ro/jsrll/.
We aim to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, so we encourage presenters to make their speeches as lively and interactive as possible, and participants to ask questions.
