The 17th Biennial HUSSE Conference

30th January to 1st February, University of Szeged

Colleagues from the English Department—Anett Schäffer, Ágnes Magnuczné-Godó, and Attila Dósa—participated in the 17th Biennial Conference of the Hungarian Society for the Study of English (HUSSE). The event took place at the University of Szeged from January 30 to February 1.

As well as giving talks in their respective fields of literature and applied linguistics, Dr. Dósa chaired a poetry session and Dr. Schäffer was invited to present Vol. 6 of the multivolume History of English Literature in the Book Presentations section, where Dr. Dósa's monograph, History of Scottish Literature (2023), was also introduced, along with the recently co-edited volume Space, Identity, and Discourse in Anglophone Studies (2024) by Dr. Magnuczné-Godó, Dr. Schäffer, Dr. Dósa, and Robin Lee Nagano.

In addition to the academic program, they spent some time enjoying a walk around sunny Szeged and met their former colleague, Dr. Éva Pataki, now a member of the teaching staff at the University of Debrecen.
