Food Drive

Spring is finally here! At last the days are longer than the nights. The freezing temperatures only remain in our memories. Though the irritations of winter are now behind us, before we know it, it will be summer and there will be high temperatures with uncomfortable humidity, and we will have new annoyances to deal with. Those, however, who have problems getting enough food for their families have something they must struggle against whatever the season of the year. Hunger is not limited to a season! In an effort to help such people, the Universities Fighting World Hunger team and the Modern Philology Department at the University of Miskolc, together with the local Miskolc Red Cross Chapter are organizing a spring food drive. On April 16-18, at the University's main entrance and at the "Rácsos Büfé" entrance, volunteers will be collecting long-lasting foodstuffs (canned goods, sugar, rice, pasta, milk, cooking oil, and other non-perishable food items). You don’t have to go all the way out to the University to take part in this. On those days, just bring your donations to the TESCO Hypermarket at the foot of Avas from 16-18.30, or during the whole day to the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (Szemere u. 4), or, on the evening of April 17, to the Grizzly Pub (Városház tér 3).
