CEACS Member Awarded Graduate Student Scholarship for Research at the University of Ottawa

Attila Takács, member of the Central European Association for Canadian Studies (CEACS) and lecturer at the Department of English Linguistics and Literature, University of Miskolc, has been awarded a prestigious Graduate Student Scholarship to conduct research at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on Indigenous films, and this scholarship will enable him to conduct crucial research at the University of Ottawa to significantly enhance his dissertation.

The Graduate Student Scholarship program supports emerging international and Canadian scholars at the graduate and PhD levels, providing them with the opportunity to visit a Canadian or international academic institution for research. It is designed to offer access to crucial scholarly information and resources for those already in the writing stage of their thesis or dissertation. A key requirement of the award is securing the support of a faculty member at the host institution to act as an academic mentor during the stay of research.

Attila Takács extends special thanks to his mentor, Professor David Staines, for his invaluable support and encouragement that made this opportunity possible. This scholarship represents a significant step in his academic journey, promising to enrich his research through direct access to Canadian scholarly resources and expertise.
