The Central European Association for Canadian Studies (CEACS), in conjunction with Charles University, organized its 8th Triennial International Conference. The conference was held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 20-22 September 2018. The following distinguished academics have accepted invitations to deliver keynote speeches:
The CEACS brings together university teachers, researchers and students from the Central European region (interpreted broadly) who are doing work related to Canada. At the present time the association has 190 members, coming from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia; a few individuals come from a scattering of other countries. Every three years the association holds a major international multidisciplinary conference. This year Hungary was represented by various universities (Szeged, Debrecen, Budapest, Veszprém, Miskolc).
At the same time, the Advisory Board, which meets once a year and is made up of representatives from virtually all the countries in the region, set the main policies of the association and checked the activities of the Executive Committee. Hungary was represented by Attila Takács, country representative of Hungarian Canadianists, from the University of Miskolc.
