English Short Film Festival 2026

This year three schools, Árpád Vezér Gimnázium in Sárospatak, Bláthy Ottó Villamosipari Technikum and Lévay József Református Gimnázium, participated in the annual English Short Film Festival on the 23rd April 2026. Students were tasked with creating films in English to demonstrate their creative talents and knowledge of English. Awards were given for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay. 

This annual event, most recently organised by Dr Ruth Lévai, was judged by a panel of four jury members - Dr. Ágnes Magnuczné-Godó, Dr. Anett Schäffer, Viktória Láng and Julia Varaljai. Participating students receive entrance exam points to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. 

Winners were Kristóf Pizsik, Dávid Gombkötő, Dávid Mura and Normán Gond for Best Film with their psychological thriller The Fourth Room, Dávid Gombkötő for Best Screenplay, Kristóf Pizsik for Best Actor and Best Actress went to Luca Türk.
